An audit from Riverside County’s Auditor-Controller, Paul Angulo, matches two registered sex offenders’ names to two employees working for Riverside County’s health care network.
But other county officials say the audit names the wrong people, noting there are discrepancies in middle names and that the photographs don’t match. And a sentence within the audit says the employees could not be “positively confirmed” as registered sex offenders.
Still, Angulo stands by his audit, noting that even the discrepancy highlights a flaw in the county’s vetting process. Full Article
Wow… let the witch hunts begin!
This would appear to be the document in question.

From it:
“Individuals with criminal convictions are not precluded from employment.” page 6
Quote HR Director
“Brenda Diederichs, the county’s human resources director, told supervisors that since 2005 all new county hires have passed a state “Live Scan” fingerprint check to weed out registered sex offenders”
Oh, my…
Watch this knucklehead try to use this as a launch point to a higher level political office. Hope the report errors continue to be contested to the hospital’s benefit and prove he was in err.
I wonder just how many people are denied an interview simply because a person looking for work has the same or similar name to a registered citizen. Hmm…
Title of the audit is “Registered Sex Offender Audit” with the objective to audit the “… assessment of [intemal] controls over registered sex offender background checks process.”, yet two quotes in the audit reference statistics NOT specific to REGISTERED SEX OFFENDERS:
“According to a study performed by the University Of Iowa College Of Public Health, the cost of sexual violence in 2009 had an estimated cost of $5.8 billion total.”
“The U.S. Department of Justice, in their special report titled, “2018 Update on Prisoner Recidivism: A 9-year Follow-up Period (2005-2014),” shows a high percentage of state prisoners that are released, continue to commit crimes between year one and year nine.”
The audit also does NOT bother to mention the well known recidivism statistics for RSO’s (less than 5% overall).
Misleading? I wonder who paid off these guys? Or who they get paid by? Oh never mind, County of Riverside… ie NBG.
